Hello:
I'm spanish. My hobie is the genealogy. I'm using Ahnnenblat for six years, more or less.
I began with my genagloy, and later I helped a lot of people. Then my genealogy AHN are a lot, and, many times, I repeat searches of people that I have in other files.
I thought to keep all data in a large file, and then extract data to construct little trees for diferent people.
Do you have experience managing large files with Ahnenblatt?
I'm afraid searches were very dificult and the loads were too slow. By the way, I supose searches between dates were a great advantage.
Thanks for your atention and your help.
Large files
Why not just give it a try?
You can save the new big file under a new name and just try to work with it. Do some searches, build some trees and lists and enter dome new data.
If you're satisfied you can continue to work with one big file and otherwise you can go back to your separate files.
I would recommend to work with .ahn-files instead of gedcom (.ged) files - especially if you want to work with bigger files.
