Ahnenblattportal

Have a question. I maintain my tree online, in Ancestry.com, then download it as GEDcom file, then open with Ahnenblatt. On Ancestry, my son is designated as "root" or "home" entry, but when i open the GED file, a distant cousin always appears first. Have tried changing the "root" person in Ancestry to myself, get same result. I know that i can reset the start person (GOTO) in Ahnenblatt, just wondering how Ahnenblatt determines where to start?

Gedcom (GED file) does not store Root Person, can be set only in Ahnenblatt

Ancestry.com currently uses Gedcom v5.5. The "root" person is the first individual record after the file header, in this case my son (INDI #6), with my record (INDI #1) immediately following. The individual that Ahnenblatt is selecting for initial display is INDI #3029, roughly one-third of the way through the file.
No criticism meant, just trying to understand how A_B settled on that person -- something anomolous in that record that i need to correct, vielleicht?

I also use GedView ( http://www.intronvaria.com/GedView.html ), which is strictly a Gedcom file view/print program. Apparently, it treats the first person on the file as the "root" person.
